Julie's Story

Julie’s trust officer contacted Benevia and requested our assistance in helping Julie with the difficult project of liquidating and selling her parent's estate. Both of her parents had passed away within the last year and Julie was in the midst of planning her daughter’s upcoming wedding. A Benevia Transition Coordinator contacted Julie to offer support, create a master plan, and introduce screened services that could assist with the liquidation process. Julie’s first concern was determining the value of her mom’s jewelry, antique furniture and artwork. Her Transition Coordinator scheduled an appointment with an antique dealer to provide an appraisal of several items at the estate. As Julie’s parents had accumulated a great deal of ‘stuff’ throughout their married life, the Transition Coordinator determined that the services of a Senior Move Management company would be helpful to Julie.

With a third person’s perspective and hands-on assistance provided by her Move Manager, Julie was able to successfully downsize her parents’ estate prior to her wedding. Throughout this process, her Transition Coordinator arranged for on-site shredding of her parents’ financial documents, provided suggestions for charitable organizations to which she could donate items and scheduled the services of a trash disposal company. After the wedding, Benevia introduced Julie to a professional realtor and provided coordination of additional screened services including home repair, home staging, carpet cleaning, and landscaping. Julie's parents home sold within two months and she was delighted by the time, effort, money, and stress that she saved by working with Benevia.
